The Shelby County Gran Prix is a new USA Cycling sanctioned, time based stage race in Columbiana Alabama (45 min south of Birmingham). The race includes three stages, starting with an individual time trial, and two road races over the course of the weekend. The event will provide a challenging race opportunity for racers from across the southeastern US. Racers are also welcome to attend the Shelby County Shindig BBQ Competition, a 1,500 person annual festival located only two blocks from the start/finish. Stage 1 - Time Trial

Riders race against the clock up a 6.5 mile out-and-back time trial course going over Columbiana Mountain.

Stage 2 - Road Race

Riders proceed onto Stage 2 with the short course through Columbiana. A 7.5 mile loop with rolling hills.

Stage 3 - Road Race

Sunday's Stage 3 includes the longer road race courses going up Columbiana Mountain. Each lap is 15.5 miles and includes a 1 mile climb each lap.

Stage 1 Time Trial

Stage 1 Time Trial will set the stage for the rest of the weekend. Time Trial bikes are allowed, more info about the course profile can be found on Strava.

Stage 2 Road Race

Stage 2's 'Short Road Race' features a 7.5 mile course will rolling hills. Racers will have varying distances based on skill levels.

Sunday's 'Long Course' includes Columbiana Mountain every 15.5 miles, which is a 1 mile climb with an average over 6%
